Fertility Coach, Podcast Host, and Advocate - Tara Bradner

Welcome back or welcome to my blog!

Today I'm happy to introduce our second guest blogger! I have Dr. Tara Bradner taking over the blog, she is a fertility coach, podcaster, and advocate for mental health and infertility. She's going to talk a little about who she is, what got her started into fertility coaching, what exactly being a coach entails, and where she is headed with her career!

Who is Tara Bradner?

After enduring a long road through miscarriage, infertility, and a traumatic pregnancy, I saw so many gaps in healthcare. I practice as a nurse practitioner and felt there were so many gaps in how couples experiencing miscarriage and infertility were approached. I felt I could educate other healthcare providers on how to approach reproductive healthcare better. I saw individuals marketing themselves as fertility coaches when scrolling through social media. I felt very qualified to step into that space and be able to help people walk through this road better than I did. I started my fertility coaching business in November 2020 and my telemedicine business in May of 2021. The pandemic opened up opportunities for me to expand into telemedicine. Now I can serve so many more patients from the comfort of their own homes, office, or anywhere they are comfortable.

My podcast started in March 2021 from an idea my business coach had, I wanted a way to get education out to patients from a reliable resource. It felt natural when recording because educating patients is part of my daily routine. Hopeful Hints: An Infertility Podcast provides quick hopeful hits on all things infertility with the occasional special guest. Each episode contains empowering information to help you find peace during infertility, take back control, and fulfill your family vision.

What does a fertility coach do?

My work focuses on empowering women and couples to improve their reproductive health care and help to navigate the ups and downs. Together we break through barriers and take back control of how they start or grow their family. I take an individualized approach to their healthcare that allows them to feel heard and decide which paths to take. A patient's care plan can change quickly when trying to conceive, so my goal is to ensure they are supported, educated, and comfortable with every step being presented. Fertility coaching will benefit anyone struggling to get pregnant or who wants to prepare to conceive in the future and ensure their bodies are ready. Additionally, my services support women diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, irregular periods, and other hormone imbalances.

Where are you today, what comes next for you?

I wish to reach as many women as possible to change how they walk through conception and women's healthcare. My group program will be expanding this fall to include more resources and education. My goal is to change how healthcare approaches reproductive care. My hope is providers view it as a multidisciplinary approach that will ensure better outcomes for patients. Currently, I am creating a continuing education course for health care providers to help them better detect signs of infertility early on and identify and treat the diseases that contribute to infertility, such as PCOS and endometriosis. Additionally, I run the first and only infertility nonprofit in North Dakota and South Dakota. Everlasting Hope’s mission is to create public awareness that infertility is a treatable medical condition. We wish to support North Dakota and South Dakota families experiencing infertility through resources, education, events, support, and grants to offset medical expenses. Every legislation session, I initiate a bill to increase access to care for those diagnosed with infertility. Currently, infertility is the only disease that does not have insurance coverage, and cost is the number one barrier to care. I will never stop fighting for those diagnosed with infertility.

You can reach me on Instagram and Facebook @tarabfertility and also through my site https://tarabrandner.com/. My podcast can be found on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, iHeartRadio, and Health Podcast Network. Perhaps you will even see me on a stage near you speaking or on the bookshelves of your local bookstore!
