Hey there, sweet souls! Welcome to my cozy little corner of the internet. My name is Paiton Jean! I’m a wife, mom, entrepreneur, coffee enthusiast, also a learner and lover of simple, intentional living. I’m so happy you’re here!
A Little About Me
My life has been a bit of a whirlwind, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I met my husband on Tinder in 2019 (and yes, I totally ghosted him at first). But fate had other plans. By the spring of 2020, I realized he was my person. We moved in together after just a month of dating, and five months later, he was deployed overseas for a year.
That deployment changed everything for me. It sparked my personal growth, independence, and sense of adventure!
During that time, I packed up all our belongings and moved solo to Colorado Springs, where I pursued cosmetology school. When he came back, we were engaged, pregnant, and head over heels in love with the mountains. So, in true “let’s just go for it” fashion, we got married at the Garden of Gods, our favorite place to go on walks. Fast forward to today—we’re back in the Minnesota/North Dakota area, bought our first home, raising our little boy, juggling our many pets, and navigating the chaos of life together. We did speed-run life a little bit, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
My Family is a Priority
Family is my heart and soul. My husband is my biggest supporter, and our son is the brightest light in our lives. Our home wouldn’t be complete without our furry crew, a big baby pit bull, a menace of a little pug, and a quiet fluffy ragdoll cat. If you’ve ever read the Pig the Pug books, Mable is the real-life version.
As I write this, I’m dreaming of having chickens! Unfortunately, they aren’t allowed within city limits where I live. Which is wild considering my town has fewer than 5,000 people, while two neighboring cities with over 40,000 residents allow them… make it make sense! But there’s a city council meeting coming up to reconsider the rule, so I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for the possibility of backyard chickens in the future!
We also have a soft spot for rescue animals. Well, maybe I do... When we have the time and space, we open our home to foster pets through Homeward Animal Shelter in Fargo, ND. There’s nothing more rewarding than helping an animal feel safe and loved until they find their forever home!
Why Did You Start a Blog?
I started my blog when I was 15 and have been on and off ever since. I've always had a passion for content creation. In high school, I made countless videos, but it goes back even further. I remember filming numerous dance videos in the bathroom with my older sister on her camcorder and epic wipeout videos with my brothers!
There were times I let embarrassment and other people’s opinions get in the way. I would hear comments about my YouTube videos or blogs, and I’d step back, only to find myself drawn back to it again. Recently, I made the decision to stop caring about what others think. The truth is, success requires a little bit of cringe, and no one is perfect.
What Happens Beyond the Blog?
Outside of blogging, I run Midwest Best Media, where I help small businesses thrive through creative marketing strategies. I’m passionate about supporting fellow entrepreneurs, building connections, and making an impact in my community.
I’m also a contributing writer for Fargo Mom, a local parenting resource dedicated to helping families navigate everything from postpartum to fun events in the area. If you’re a parent in the Midwest, it’s a must-follow!
Stay tuned for the launch of my podcast, The Coffee Posse Podcast, on May 1st! It’s all about wellness, home, lifestyle, and personal growth—topics I explore here on the blog, but in a fun, coffee date with your bestie way. I can't wait to share it with you!
Daily Rituals
My routine is a never-ending work in progress. The different seasons bring on more change! Mornings are my favorite. I start my day with a glass of water, a fresh cup of hot coffee, and some movement on my walking pad. While the coffee brews, I take a few moments to set my intentions for the day and jot down my priorities. It’s a small but meaningful routine that helps me feel grounded and productive.
As a stay-at-home, work-from-home mom with ADHD, I do my best to stick to a daily chore list. The idea actually came from my son’s chore chart, which we started using to help with potty training, brushing teeth, and learning basic skills. Funny enough, it became a great reminder for me too!
When he took his vitamins, I took mine. When he brushed his teeth, I brushed mine. When he made his bed, I made mine. Realizing how helpful it was, I decided to create my own chore chart. Of course, I give myself a little "reward" for getting enough done throughout the week just like he gets his stickers...
