A consistent skincare routine is essential year-round, but during the summer months, it’s crucial to adapt to the season’s challenges like increased sun exposure and humidity. Here’s a detailed summer skincare morning routine featuring products that are beneficial for your skin, as verified by the Yuka app.

1. Shave

Shaving your face, also known as dermaplaning, offers numerous benefits for makeup application and overall skin health. I personally love using the Hot Shave Razor because it is made for women! By removing fine hairs ("peach fuzz") and dead skin cells, you create a smoother canvas, allowing foundation and other makeup products to glide on effortlessly for a more flawless finish.

2. Cleanse

Start your skincare routine by washing your face with Native Facial Cleanser. This gentle cleanser helps remove dirt, oil, and impurities without stripping the skin of its natural moisture.

Tip: Use lukewarm water to cleanse your face, as hot water can dry out your skin.

3. Tone

After cleansing, apply BYOMA Brightening Toner. Toning helps balance the skin's pH levels and prepares it for better absorption of subsequent skincare products. This toner may also enhance skin brightness, giving you a radiant complexion.

4. Eye Care

Gently dab a small amount of TruSkin Peptide Gel around the delicate eye area. This eye cream helps hydrate, firm, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and dark circles, perfect for combating summer fatigue and sun exposure effects.

5. Serum

Apply TruSkin Retinol Serum to your face and neck. Retinol promotes skin cell turnover, helping to improve texture and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and hyperpigmentation. Use retinol serums at night and always follow with sunscreen during the day.

6. Lip Care

Pamper your lips with the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. This overnight mask hydrates and repairs lips while you sleep, ensuring they stay soft and supple throughout the day.

7. Facial Massage

Use The Skinny Confidential Ice Roller to massage your face gently. This tool helps reduce puffiness, soothe inflammation, and promote blood circulation, leaving your skin refreshed and revitalized.

8. Sun Protection

Finish your morning routine with The Skinny Confidential Caffeinated Sunscreen. Sunscreen is essential year-round, but it’s especially crucial in the summer when UV rays are strongest. This sunscreen not only protects your skin but also energizes it with caffeine, providing antioxidant benefits.

Tip: Reapply sunscreen every two hours, especially if you’re spending time outdoors or swimming. I prefer to use Supergoop sunscreen!

Additional Tips for Summer Skincare

  • Hydration: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from within.

  • Cooling Treatments: Use chilled sheet masks or refrigerated skincare products to soothe sun-exposed skin.

  • Lighter Formulas: Opt for lightweight moisturizers and serums that won’t clog pores in humid weather.

  • After-Sun Care: If exposed to the sun for extended periods, soothe your skin with aloe vera gel or after-sun lotions.

By using products that are beneficial and verified by apps like Yuka, you can enjoy healthy, glowing skin all summer long. Remember, consistency is key to achieving and maintaining your desired skincare results!
