There’s something so nostalgic about fruit snacks. But as a mom, I’m always looking for ways to upgrade the childhood classics with ingredients I feel good about! These homemade gummies are fun, easy, and made with only three simple ingredients: organic beef gelatin, water, and your choice of juice or water enhancer (I used Stur!).
Not only are they ridiculously easy to make, but they’re also a sneaky little health win. Gelatin is packed with protein and supports gut health, skin, and joints. And using something like Stur instead of sugary juice lets you control sweetness and flavor without all the sugar and junk.
Ingredients
¼ cup organic beef gelatin
⅔ cup water
⅓ cup juice or ¼ cup Stur water enhancer
(I used Stur!)
Tools You'll Need
Whisk – for mixing the gelatin until smooth
Small saucepan – to gently heat the mixture
Liquid measuring cup – for the water and juice
¼ cup dry measuring cup – for the beef gelatin
Silicone molds – any fun shapes will do (we love dinos and hearts!)
Baster or dropper – to easily transfer the mixture into molds without a mess
Don’t have a dropper? A spoon or small measuring cup works in a pinch, just move fast since the mixture sets quickly! You can also use a shallow pan if you don't have molds.
Instructions
Measure your water and juice (or Stur) together in the same measuring cup for easy pouring.
In a saucepan over low heat, add the juice/water combo and stir gently as it warms.
Measure out the gelatin and slowly add it to the pan, whisking constantly.
Keep whisking until the gelatin is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
Tip: If chunks appear, bump the heat up slightly to medium and keep whisking until it clears up.
Once fully dissolved, remove from heat and move quickly—this sets fast!
Use a baster or dropper to fill your silicone molds. Work quickly before the mixture begins to thicken.
Once all molds are filled and the pot is empty, place trays in the freezer for 20 minutes, or until they feel set with that perfect squishy texture.
Pop them out and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
A Few Things to Note: 3-Ingredient Homemade Gummies (Healthy Fruit Snacks Kids Will Actually Eat)
These are super sweet, which I love, but you can always adjust with less Stur and more water!
Use fun silicone molds to make them kid-approved (we used dinosaur and gummy bear shapes over here!).
If you don’t have molds, no worries. Just pour into a shallow dish and slice into cubes once it’s set.
